The Goitside Development Trust (GDT) is taking over the work of the “Goitside Partnership” an organisation of local businesses, residents, land owners, and other interested parties that have been campaigning for the improvement and re-development of the Goitside area of Bradford for the last 5 years or so.

The Goitside Partnership recently formed a steering group in order to set up the Goitside Development Trust which will be a company “limited by guarantee”. Today funds of over £10,000 have been secured to bring the project to fruition.

Goitside is located to the east of Bradford City Centre and bordered by Thornton Road, City Road and Westgate. Goitside is a designated Conservation Area with a fine collection of over 50 historic warehouses and mill buildings of which 5 are grade II listed.

Within the Goitside area there is a residential population of approximately 2,000 and a variety of businesses ranging from sole traders through to large multinationals.

GDT will be playing a vital role in promoting the Goitside Area. We believe that the area is ideally positioned both in terms of location and its built environment to benefit from Bradford’s increasingly strong regeneration and economic development.
